Salem State University Marsh Hall – Salem, MA

Summit Engineering provided the structural design for this new $57M, 160,000-SF five-story building. The project includes 525 student beds, a 320-seat dining hall, conference facilities, and faculty housing. The design team is applying for LEED Gold certification. The building construction type consists of composite steel framing and includes a 65-foot clear span bridge structure connecting the northern and southern portions of the building. Due to a compressed schedule, the project went from schematic design to building occupancy in approximately 24 months. Project delivery required a complete building model using Revit ®Building Information Modeling (BIM).
