Located in Portsmouth, NH, Summit Engineering provides structural design, construction administration and inspection services on a variety of project types throughout New England and beyond. Our project experience ranges from new to historic structures and from single to multi-story buildings as well as other specialized structures.

Summit Engineering, PLLC was founded by Anthony Coviello PE in January 2007. Originally named Coviello Engineering, the company concentrated on the structural design of buildings and other structures. In January of 2008, Coviello Engineering was renamed Summit Engineering, PLLC and welcomed Robert Champagne PE as a principal of the firm.

Mr. Coviello’s background is in structural engineering. He holds a B.S. and an M.S. in civil engineering from the University of New Hampshire. He is the 2009 recipient of the NH Young Engineer of the Year award. He has provided structural design and analysis for a variety of institutional, commercial, industrial and residential projects. Mr. Coviello has specialized expertise in the design of coastal structures, cold-formed steel structures and building envelopes. In 2009, Mr. Coviello was elected to the Portsmouth City Council. He is the Council representative to the city’s Historic District Commission. Tony is the former President of the Structural Engineers of New Hampshire and is currently serving as a board member. He also serves as the assistant structural chair for the structural exam committee at the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors (NCEES).

	Robert R. Champagne, PE, SECB LEED AP ® Principal - Licenses: NH, MA, ME, CT, VT, NJ, FL, US Virgin Islands
Mr. Champagne’s background is in structural engineering. He holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of New Hampshire and has provided structural design and analysis for a variety of institutional, commercial, industrial and residential projects. Bob is a LEED® Accredited Professional and member of the United States Green Building Council – NH Chapter. He has worked on numerous LEED accredited projects and specializes in the design of concrete and steel structures ranging from small stair designs to complex multi-story buildings.

Jeffrey R. Karam, PE
LEED AP ®
Structural Engineer - Licenses: NH, ME

Mr. Karam’s background is in structural engineering. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, respectively. He’s currently enrolled in the part-time M.B.A. program at UNH. Jeff has a variety of design and inspection experience ranging from large, single-family residences to highway bridges. He has particular expertise in the design of wood and aluminum structures.

Jeff was the first LEED® Accredited Professional Structural Engineer in New Hampshire. He serves on the Structural Engineers of New Hampshire Professional Development Committee. He also volunteers his time on the Stratham Zoning Board of Adjustment.

	Tyler McNally Engineer Technician
Mr. McNally’s background is in CADD and computer modeling. He holds an A.S. in Architectural Engineering Technology from New Hampshire Technical Institute.

	Dan Bard Engineer Technician II
Mr. Bard’s background is in structural steel detailing. He holds dual bachelor degrees in Mathematics and Physics from Keene State College in Keene, NH; and an A.A.S. in Civil Engineering Technology from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. His background includes modeling and drafting of structural steel buildings and bridges, design of structural steel connections, and providing assistance with project management in steel construction.
